"thank God you can give by credit card..."
Thank you kindly to all who prayed for me when I was ill recently. I had a kidney infection, which knocks you right out and gives you a nasty backache. Fortunately, however, the good gifts of God include the discovery of antibiotics. And I am fortunate to have a very fine GP who looked after me extremely well, and gave me swift treatment. As it happens, she also shares my faith, and her medical expertise was delivered with the kind of grace and care that Jesus showed when he encountered ill people. I'm always happy to receive medical treatment and prayer in equal measure - I believe in them both, and have always regarded science as one of God's gifts to us, not a threat to theology or faith.
Entertainingly enough, the extraordinary Todd Bentley, whose methods and beliefs I mentioned with more than a modicum of caution recently, apparently believes that the anointing is all in the kidneys. Perhaps that's where i've been going wrong? If I had anointed kidneys, I would probably be earning a great deal more than I do as a regular minister too - something I realised on being invited to "sow seeds of revival" here... (PS, just so you know, I shall not be donating to Todd Bentley's "ministry". I'd rather follow the instructions of Jesus, and feed the poor, the hungry, the widow and the orphan...)
Maggi, There seems to be a problem with the kidneys image. A very strange and invalid url.
Glad you are better, I like healers who don't kick me in the face - good prayer with good care is a wonderful treatment.

hi maggie, like what you are doing and saying.the last time i spoke with you in whitehaven many years ago you were just thinking about going into the ministry and now ive caught up with you here you are doing a very good job at making people really think about their faith and all the tough issues we face in these crazy times. Its great to see that the fire in you still burns as bright as ever it did. Bless you. Eric

hey, Eric! so good to hear from you. I remember the scary ex-cop car rides you used to treat your friends to... hope you're keeping well!

thanks Tim! We were out at an airshow and I got a bit lightheaded from looking up for too long! So my son and I crashed out on the grass for half an hour, and this was the photo of our afternoon nap...
