"spirit-led worship"

"It usually takes more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech."
-- Mark Twain

Sermon-givers, worship leaders and spontaneous pray-ers, take note.

Update: Simon Marsh writes a good counter-balancing reply here

Our Rural Dean once announced a forthcoming course for those who lead intercessions in church, and quipped that "those who say 'Lord' and 'Just' instead of breathing should be shot", much to the amusement of all at Synod... except the two other people from my church. Oh well, they will learn one day.

I like that.

I concur.

great application of this quote.

and i'm not talking about an airtight scripted service - i'm talking about the thought and energy it takes to erect / create a holistic sacred space that allows the wind to blow where it wills.

btw, it takes much less time to plug things into a formula - but you don't end up with a space - just a script. (and hopefully God will be courteous enough to read your script).

good reminder ...thanks

Amen!!!
