Fifteen minutes of fame?

I'm working on a research project at the moment which may well become the basis of a TV programme.  I'm looking at the emergence of new forms of Church - the kind of thing that has variously been called New Forms, Alternative, Emerging, Fresh Expressions, etc...

Are you in a group like that, anywhere in the UK?  If so, would you like to take part in the project, either by being a commenter, being interviewed, or having your Emerging group featured....?

If so, please e-mail me at this address:
emergingproject@gmail.com
and I'll send you a questionnaire. All information given to me on the questionnaire will be treated as confidential, and will not be reproduced without your permission.

can I suggest you contact David Coleman at Church Army as he will probably be able to give you a handful of projects that more than fit the kind of thing you are loking at.

This looks good Maggi, have made a link from the Moot blog

At Greenbelt hosted Dave Tomlinson from St Luke's Holloway (London) had a few alternative worship services.

I would assume that he has several congregation members who have been part of his alternative church experience prior to being vicar in St Lukes.

"The Post Evangelical" by Tomlinson was intriguing. I guess you have come across it!

No alternative churches where I am or I would have definitely checked them out!

But my church, an anglican one, however, does incorporate quite a bit of "alternative" worship styles. Mostly meditative, interactive, stations of the cross, harvest supper services, passover supper services.
Incredible experiences they have been and the most profound encounters with God have been through these and not the traditional type services.

Canada, i know, isn't quite IN the UK - but i am very interested in your research - with, i confess, ulterior motives. We're in the beginning stages of building a fair-trade cafe along the side of a large cathedral style church which, among other things, will provide a venue for cafe-style worship. I'm aware of groups in NZ and Australia doing cafe worship, but not much in NA nor in the UK. If you come across anyone doing this, is there any chance of letting us know? I'm sure there'll be many far more important matters to think about than this, but . . . we'd sure appreciate any contacts. btw there's a link re cafe on my blog. thanks. Bill
